You cannot deny that most women still have a subserviant way of interacting with their men.Of course it does not show as clearly as it did some decades ago,not everywhere at least,but this boy wievs do not surprise me at all.He is probably just mouthing the words without even giving them a good thought anyway,probably to please the male adults around him and feel like their equal. They still have these ideas because in a social environment in which who has the power and therefore can decide for everyone or enable everyone else to do somerhing they cannot really do on their own,is still the guy who poses the biggest threat with his muscular power,it is no wonder youngsters end up having these ideas.
I mean look around,it is like women have to find their way in the world by being sexy and males have to do the same by being strong or manly or protective or anyway supporting somewhat.So first they choose the man who can protected them like a good soldier and defend them even when they are doing something they should not,then they go:I am a feminist,I am a progressive thinker,I am for sexual equality.
But what they are really doing is:proving the men still got the power and all they can do is getting them to choose their sides one way or the other.Cause a protector,somebody who defends and enables them to fight battles without actually risking to get hurt is always necessary. Never know who's toes they might step on.So then they go: Help big und strong man,defend me against this evil big und strong man who happens to be pissed off at them,obviously,as far as they are concerned,over nothing. Or over absolutely unreasonable deals,or whatever,so the woman,to him,is never wrong,unless she is challenging the same power in some other man that he uses on a daily basis to keep her reling on him for,defense.For a false sense of safety and security.So even when women actually feel equal,most of the time it is just cause the men are allowing and letting them to believe so.
We got to go a long way to get to real sexual equality,and maybe we will never get there cause no matter what there will still be people who would rather go for the old deal without even realizing just because it apparently simplifies things.

I'm currently in a house share with a guy who thinks like this. One night he got drunk, trashed the place and spilt red wine everywhere. In the morning we dragged him out if bed with a hangover and made him clean it all up. It was great.
