Is it normal to be an option forever?

I'm always an option. Whenever I'm with my bestfriend, everyone thinks she is better in everything. My mom always compare me to her. It is like they don't notice me at all. I always try to show myself to everyone that I can do something too but they don't give a damn.

I even joined a group of dancers and just like before im still an option they will just make me perform when they are out of dancers. I quit the group bcs i think that is not my kind of dancing.

Until now whatever I do I'm always an option for everybody. I'm still waiting for my time and spot light. : (

Sounds like it's time you found some new friends who love you just the way you are. Or take up some new interest and devote yourself so much to it that you can't be ignored.

No and you won't be second best with everyone for ever. Are you sure you're not exaggerating?

This sounds more like a flawed self-image and corresponding flawed perception of reality than an actual "thing".

With some exceedingly rare exceptions, there will always be someone who can do "things" better than you. This doesn't make them better people, just better at certain things. As an example, I am probably a more accomplished computer technician than you are, and you are certainly a better dancer. This makes neither of us better than the other - just different.

Perfection is a wonderful goal, and an impossible destination. Try to accept you are wonderful just as you are, and don't worry about what others think/do so much.

    It's not always a competition

If you wanna be the best at dancing, try harder. Push yourself.

But like I said, you dont have to be the best if you dont want to, it really doesnt matter

What does your friend have that you don't? Figure out what that is and improve. Don't be drowned by jealosuy and don't listen to the 'just love yourself' advice. You can't trick yourself when you know you can improve.

Just accept the fact that you'll always be a supporting actress.
