Is it normal to be afraid to be alone?

I'm dating a guy, who knows if he is the right one for me. I only see him on weekends d/t living far apart and both working/kids, etc. I hate when he leaves. It makes me feel lonely. I sit around waiting for him to text/call/email me all week. I hate it!I have hobbies, a job, stay busy, but in my mind I'm always waiting to hear from him. Is this normal?

  • Everyone has feared being alone at some point in their lives. But I have to ask, are you dependent on him? You have a job and can provide for yourself. I understand that being single is hard but that doesn't mean it's bad. I think that you should get a dog and try finding "the one". Instead of trying to find someone who will fill the world of loneliness that has manifested itself in your everyday life.

I've found going out with friends tends to be a pretty good distraction. However if you don't really have time for that then just keep doing what you're doing to make yourself busy. I know how hard it can be, but with a bit of time things will get better.
