Is it normal to be afraid of your stepkids?

I am very afraid that my step children are going to try to kill or harm me. Anytime one of them makes me coffee or breakfast in the morning I am afraid to drink or eat it for fear of being poisoned. I try my best to get along with them and the seem to like me but still I can't shake the feeling that one of these days they are going to attempt or even get away with hurting or murdering me.

    Why are your step children cooking breakfast and making coffee for you? Can't you do those things for yourself?

    They make medicine that if you take it, it will keep them from killing you. Ask your doctor about it. Maybe he can get you to take the medicine that protects you from them killing you :)

    With step children you have to be careful. After all, there is probably a lot of guilt surround the kids from the remaining parent. Guilt = weak parenting. Simple as that. The remaining parent may not have a clue (or doesn't want to have a clue) about the reality of what is happening at home.

    That is why I say, be careful and carry pepper spray. Don't put yourself in harms way.

    If it's NOT all in your head, I guess the simplest thing to do would be to get out, don't you think?
    I guess you didn't have this feeling BEFORE you married the father of these kids?

    How old are these "kids"? If they are over 18, they need to move out! If they are just children (small and under 12 or so) then you need to set up a camera (secretly) and monitor what they are doing when you are not there.

    If they are between 12-18, watch your back, absolutely. The camera will help in protecting you from harm and proving harm intended by them (hopefully not).

    If you see there is no intent to harm you, then you need to get professional help. In the meantime, carry pepper spray.

    Uh, no. It's not normal. And why would kids murder you?! Are you some sort of extremely rich lady, or an international spy?! XD
    If they like you, they will not harm you. You will be their new mother figure.
    And they make you breakfast? You should be happy! They seem like good kids, but you... You seem to be some overreacting freak of some sort.
    Get some professional help. No really. Go see a shrink.
    You have a serious problem. Thinking that people would kill you.
