Is it normal to be afraid of success?

Yep.

This may sound a little silly, but sometimes I want to write a piece that's so outstanding it'll ascend humanity to a new era of enlightenment.

But then, as soon as I begin writing, I freeze up. For me, it's way easier to write or draw if I start with no expectations at all. I aim to make something shitty, and if it turns out that way, I'm not disappointed. However, when it comes out good, I'm pleasantly surprised. Win-win :)

If you could snap your fingers and have everything you could want from success, would you? Most people are just afraid of failing.

It might be for you, but not for me it isn't.
