Is it normal to be afraid of other people 'cause ur from germany?

I totally understand you. I am not German but have been living in The Netherlands long time. Even there, in your neighbour-country they call you 'Moffen' and Nazi's, at least behind your backs. It's really low and these people only show how they're very ignorant and dumb on history. I'm aware that most German citizens at time were innocent. Hitler and his Nazi party brainwashed Germany, held destructive concentration camps and tortured Jews a secret, and lied when they were losing the war. Germany suffered from bomb attacks of the ally countries to the point of destroying entire cities like Dresden, innocent German citizens died. Then they suffered a divided country, a poor economy and large shame of WWII. Nowadays Germany is still ashamed and does as much as possible to keep world peace and to help traumatized Jews. They are a tolerant country, friendly to foreigners, strong in the European Union and world economy, with a good education and health system and welfare state. Germany has many good sides and is a great example to other European countries. Show those ignorant idiots films like Untergang and Merkel speaking to the EU. Germany should be praised, not humiliated, you suffered more than enough for past crimes committed by corrupted politicians, not by the regular citizens.

I come from a German heritage and sometimes I feel the same way. People who say that are ignorant. Not all Germans were Nazis but most NAZis wer German :p

Like, Britain and America and Russian haven't committed lots of crimes? Stalin staved millions of people to death.

Wait. I had to work with a couple of Germans at work and they were pretty nice, and my boss used to say that he enjoyed being with German women the best (he's super rich so maybe that's why though) so I guess that's changed over the years

I was born in Germany though I'm Sri Lankan. My parents say that they were racist but helpful. This was around 30 years ago so I don't know how it is now.

I love Germans, but I don't understand the hate! Not every german is a Nazi! It's a cruel stereotype. Just like at the time, not everyone in Germany was a bad person. There were a lot of Germans that fought in the resistance and helped to save many Jewish people. Ever read, Dairy of Anne Frank or Number the Stars? Ever seen, 'Allo 'Allo!

I don't understand why a whole country must be blamed, even today? It's sad. I'm not from Germany, bit it's culture and landscape is very beautiful. I understand your pain.

I've always liked Germans/Germany, in fact I'd love to travel there one day. I'm probably ignorant in my belief, but I thought the whole Nazi thing was over with the war - today's Germans are not Nazis.

When people accuse you of being a Nazi because you are from Germany, those people are being ignorant - that means they are not making an honest effort to understand the world they live in. In other words, these people who call you Nazis are themselves liars and are closer to *being* the evil that they assume the Nazis represented than they manage to blurt out you are to your face. Don't be afraid of these people and don't let them break your spirit! They can only fool themselves.

You are like a child getting told off by a parent for your sibling's fault. Just say 'I am sorry for what the previous generation has done, I have no intention of doing the same and I hope you understand'. Those people who say you are Nazis maybe be ignorant, but not an unreasonable one.

I'm not German and I don't think I have any German heritage but I have no problem with Germany.

So many other countries have also done things that are evil. I also have a internet friend that's German and I get along fine with him.

Oh, I forgot to say that all this happened in 1972. And we are still friends and her mom is going strong. And my friends brother is still HOT!!

When I was in highschool my best friend is German. I loved her family. Her mom had a very thick accent. It took me a while to understand her. I did just about everything with her family. One time we went swimming at a lake and some asshole yells Krout go home to my friends mother. We were all devastated. We stayed and eventually that creep left. Her mom is so funny. One time she was at DMV and asked where the German pamphlets were. There was Vietnamese, Spanish, Togalag, Chinese, Japanese etc... But no German. She made a wonderful fuss. So, I don't think that way. And I'm sorry that there are still people like that. Some people just can't seem to get over their self importance.
