I'm absolutely terrified of big fish I scream soloud that I lose my voice when a big fish........or any fish for that matter swims by me.
I worry about moccasins, gar and gators if in fresh water. Jellyfish, sharks and stingrays in salt water. But not enough that I won't swim.
Whenever I canoe over murky water, my imagination goes wild and I imagine the sunken logs to be giant sea serpents. I know one day, one of them really will be a sea serpent. When that day comes, I will be ready to blow it's head off with my shotgun when it rises out of the water, with it's creepy, dead fish eyes.
When i was young i swam down in a river and grabbed something. It was a river lobster and it scared the living daylight out of me. Didnt dare to dive to bottoms of water where i coulndt see the bottom.. But recently .. I figured.. There should be nothing to be worried about if you have at least some swimming training:) you are human abd you have thumbs! Thumbs are great.. You can do anything with em.. Even grab fish or kill man eating logs.
