Is it normal to be afraid of dating because i don't drive?

I'm just barely learning to drive and I am 18 years old female and in college. I'm a bit afraid to date now because I don't have a license nor a car. I know some girls who think guys that don't have cars or can't drive are losers. Thus I feel guys will think of me this way as well. Is it normal?

Shallow women. only care about guys who drive. But i guess for a women it doesn't matter because he can be the one who drives you around.

Nah. I'm a guy and I started learning to drive at 15 but crashed the car at 16 and didn't have much confidence driving for a while, not mention I had a driving instructor while I was in drivers ed that made driving one of the most stressful experiences ever, so I didn't get my license until I was 18 and a freshmen in college when I finally realized I should probably get on that because just like you feel, I was embarrassed.

But look at this way. Most guys (as long as they don't have a problem with driving) would love to drive you somewhere on a date if they like you, so you not having a license shouldn't be a problem. Guys for the most part do like to be protective or feel like a provider for a girl and it is not a terrible thing if she needs him to take her places. If a guy is nice he definitely wouldn't think poorly of you because of it. Also, if you find some guy like me who at 18 didn't have his license either, then you're in the same situation and he probably feels bad about it too, so you can empathize with each other. Besides, worst comes to worst, walking or taking a bus, or a taxi somewhere is just more opportunities to hold his hand ;)

I live in the city and everywhere is walkable to. When I took a girl to the zoo for a date we got the train and took a taxi at the other end. Some women like that I have principles enough not to drive. Admittedly, they're in the minority.

In your case, I don't think men will care whether you drive or not. There's probably still some men out there who would even prefer it that you don't as they may see it as emasculating to be driven about.

I live in a small town, and can walk everywhere, so I never learned to drive. But lately, the girls are showing intrest in men who can drive.... :/
    I'm on the same boat.
