Is it normal to be afraid of answer phone messages?

when i walk past my home phone, I am always scared that the answer machine will start playing. it really freaks me out and I tend to run past phones x[ is this normal?

    lmfao, thats pretty funny. But i can see where your coming from. Do you get scared of it ringing or thinking maybe one day it will just start playing a random message??

    I'm scared that if the answering machine goes off and i talk, that they somehow hear me and they know that i'm really not home.
