Good for you, at least you have the balls to get tested, unlike a lot of people. It's not a big deal. You'll feel relieved either way, and you should feel proud of yourself for respecting your body and your future partners'.

Yes it's normal. I've gotten tested for HIV once when I was in university, and it wasn't fun. The waiting was the worst part obviously, but thank Satan it was negative.

Even if you have had unprotected sex with someone you don't know, your chance of getting HIV from heterosexual encounters with an infected person is VERY slim, and if you're a man who sleeps with women, it is even slimmer. (Not that I am recommending unprotected sex.) I assume if you are a man having unprotected sex with strange men, then you wouldn't even ask this question.
