I'm terrified of all the above mentioned. It gives me chills just thinking of it. Great, now I'm gonna have a nightmare about it.....

I have this fear also!!!!!!!!!! :) I do not know the name of it. My fear also includes swimming pool drains, lights & pipes. Or any machinery under water. I have no idea WHY I feel this way.

The reason you're afraid of underwater machinery is most likely because of the many ways things could go wrong. Knowing that you have this phobia, I'm not gonna go into detail.

I know this post was 5 and a half years ago, but I hope this brought you some "closure" on the issue.

That's just the classic fear of the unknown. It's in human nature. Just enjoy life and try not to think about it too much.

  • I thought I'm a weird person. My curiosity made me looked up online for why I feel scared of these stuffs. I found that I'm not alone. Thank God. My family thinks my fear is just another short term fear. I guess they don't have the feeling I have and it is scary. I've had it for a long time.

Hm... Well, there is at least fear of fish (ichthyophobia), fear of open sea (thalassophobia) and fear of large objects (megalophobia). More info from Wikipedia.

Not sure if there is a specific phobia for sunk ships.
