Last weekend when I came home from college, my brother slapped me across the face while he pinned me up against a wall and tried to choke me as well. What was supposed to be a joke became a nightmare...it was just like Dr.Jekyll/Dr.Hyde, how his demeanor changed. He's about 2 years older than me and very protective. I've kept alot of personal things from him like drinking and guys throughout college because he has verbally abused me on numerous occasions and has called me practically every name in the book such as bitch, whore, slut and compared me to dirt on the ground. And that was because his friend and I were on the verge of dating. He graduated in the fall and moved back home in efforts to find a job, but I really just think he has nothing better to do.

I've been suffering from anxiety for the past couple of months and I'm pretty sure I'm dealing with depression because of recent events. Coming home gives me an anxiety attack and after being home for a couple of hours, I'm ready to go back.

My brother doesn't think he's wrong, in fact he's probably expecting an apology from me after HE choked and hit me. He also told me I should feel guilty and all of it was my fault. I don't know what to do because telling my parents is out of the question.

    Of course it's normal, a lot of people have gotton abused before. Stupid question. I do think your brother is a bit retarded, just tell your parents before it gets worse.

    I would either

    1)Kill that motherfucker

    2)Handcuff his ass when he is sleeping then NEVER unlock it.

    3)Just tell your parents or call the police.

    No it is not normal. Your brother has feelings for but is too much of a pussy to tell so he beats you up. You should be afraid. You need to tell you parents and stay the hell way from him he will kill you.

    No it is not normal. Your brother has feelings for u and he knows it is wrong. He acts out to stop himself from going farther. U should b afriad. U need to tell someone and stay away.

    i can't imagine why telling your parents would be out of the question, so i am going to urge you to do that. could it be because then he'll tell some secrets?

    somehow, sometime, your brother got the "idea" that you are his responsibility. you aren't though.

    if you let some time pass, so that he calms down, and then in the presence of your parents, could you bring up name calling and violence?

    i don't know what's up with your brother, but he needs to stop that shit right away.
