Is it normal to be able to smoke weed in public?

I smoke weed in public all the time, and no one has ever told me to stop. I sit out in the back yard taking bong hits in plain sight of people golfing, and none of them have said a thing. I do it every day.

I've smoked joints down town in public, even when cops are everywhere, and no one has tried to stop me.

It's pretty cool, kinda makes me think times are changing.

Is it normal that I'm not in jail considering how much I smoke weed in public? I live in the U.S.

    Its normal. Nobody cares about weed. I do this as well as drink in public. Nobody ever cares as long as your not being a dumbass about it.
    Weed is legal here now (in private-same laws as alcohol) but everyone did it before too.

    I do that all the time in my friend's neighborhood. And we'll always trip out when we see people, but the truth is no one gives to shits anymore. I'm just ready for it to finally be legalized.

    Normal. People smoke weed all the time in my hometown and the cops don't give a crap.

    Dude totally normal.

    I live in Southside Chicago right on a busy street with at least 5 cars passing every minute and me and my buddies smoke pot out of bongs, bowl, joints, blunts and onehitters either on my front lawn or on the roof while shinning laser pointers at people. We never get into any real trouble cause the cops can't enter into my house without my consent or a warrant. Sometimes I catch shit from my neighbor cause he's one of those uninformed republican assholes that think weed is right up there with herion but other that never had a problem.
