Is it normal to be able to sleep for 20 hours at a time?

During summer and winter breaks, when I'm not working, I can sleep for 20 hours at a time, every night, if I'm not woken up by someone. I only feel rested when I get at least 10 hours, which I know isn't normal. But is it normal that people have the ability to sleep that long?

Depends on your sleep patterns. A healthy person sleeps and eat on schedule.

I once slept a full 23 hours. That was after not sleeping for two days tho. Now its about 10 to 12 hours but I'm only able to sleep during the day time

Lucky you but I don't think this is normal. I think you go to a sleep centre.

They did experiments (at first deep underground) in which people didn't know what time it is (no watches, clocks, daylight, schedules) and could turn their lights on and off whenever they wanted and sleep whenever they wanted and while many started sleeping 8 1/3 hours awake 16 2/3 hours, some ended up sleeping 16 hours then stayed awake 32 hours straight and kept doing this till the experiment ended (weeks or months). Maybe you don't see the outside world enough.

It's uncommon. I'm not a specialist but I've only heard about people like this a handful of times. You might want to visit the doctor, and I'm not talking about that follows "Who."
