Is it normal to be a woman but feel like i look like a man

I am a straight married woman but I feel very masculine. My husband calls me "dude" and "bro" and I am starting to feel that I must look like a guy. I have a straight body shape (rectangle) but I read that 40% of women have this body type. I feel like my hands and feet are big - I am 5'4" & shoe size is 7.5, dress size =4. I have long hair & I want to get it cut b/c it is in bad shape but now I am self-conscious that I will look even more like a man. I don't know if all this is in my head or if I really look like a dude. I am losing more self confidence everyday.

Your husband should never call you dude. It says to women that they dont see them as a sexual being, just a buddy. He probably doesnt really mean it in that way though. Ask him, or tell him how it makes u feel. Cut your hair if you want@! Just dont get a guys haircut, guess it depends on what you mean by short. If he thought you were ugly he never owuld have asked you out in the first place. If you really feel like you look like a guy, try and be a little more feminine...IE wear a little bit of makeup, dye your hair a pretty colour, and wear your own, feminine clothes, never your husbands.

Short hair can still look lovely, just ask your hairdresser what would look nice with your face shape. Also you can get lovely clothes to fit your figure like floating tops (I have quite big boobs so these tops make me look pregnant)
You need a make over to boost your confidence, there are so many women out there with your short of shape who look stunning (look at Ciara) so embrace it! And ask your husband to stop calling you things like that if it's damaging your self esteem

  • If you put some makeup on, nobody will dare think you are masculine. Just a bit of mascara and black pencil can completely change how you see yourself and how others see you. You're obviously in need of a change! So cut your hair, make sure you take good care of it with good products. Short hair looks beautiful on many people and is easier to keep healthy, or so i've heard. Last but not least, when you get dressed in the morning or when you go out to buy clothes, think "FEMININE".

    Hope that helped :)

i have a friend who has very wide shoulders and a rectangular figure but she wears make-up and very girly, she has a attractive face but her body is rectangular. maybe you could feel more feminine if your wore make-up and dressed in girly clothing, it dosent have to be mega girly but if you wear boyish clothing it will make you think worse about yourself, dont worry about your husband, but if he is making you feel bad then sit down and talk to him, thats the best thing you can do

  • If you have a husband, you can't be that ugly.

  • I think you should go for an Annie Lennox/Elly Jackson look, that way nobody can tell what you actually are at first sight.
