Is it normal to be a virgin at 24?

Okay in the years in high school where most people were 1st falling in love and losing "it" I switched schools 3 times. I was always the new girl, I only dated one guy and wasn't that into him. In the years since I've been working as a preschool teacher and am not ever really around men (that aren't married with kids). I'm hoping to meet someone when I start college in the spring but I'm worried any guy will be freaked out if they find out I'm still a virgin. I'm worried I will seem like I'm frigid when I'm not at all. I'm not waiting for marriage and I don't think sex is dirty or anything. I just haven't met the right guy.
So, am I normal?

That's fine. I didn't loose it till I was 25 and that's long for a guy most would say. Stop dwelling on it when it happens it happens. Just make sure you are honest with the guy up front

Just about every virgin I'm these pages puts it off on meeting the right guy. How will you know when mr right knocks on your door? Sometimes we have to pursue things like dating and stop the right guy fantasy and get real. Good intentions, but way idealistic .... And disappointment.

Almost every girl I have ever talked to about this has regretted their 1st time. If not with who, then when or how. I knew I was the kind of person who would have a really hard time dealing with that kind of regret. Thank you for your comments (even the nasty ones) after reading them all I feel even more certain that I made the right decision for myself.

I'm 22 and I'm a virgin. I'm not holding out for the "right one" but I think you should wait until you find someone you can at least see yourself in a relationship with for a while.

It's may not be normal, but it's not a bad thing. If you are happy then just continue living life, you still got a lot of time and you will meet the right guy eventually.

Society is very sex obssessed and they try to make you think sex is so important and that you must have sex to be happy, but that's not true, infact later on in your life, you might turn out to be Asexual, but you could still possibly be Sexual, and if you want my opinion, please remain a virgin, a sex-free life is amazing, believe me, I'm Asexual, I don't have sex n' I'm very happy(well because I don't have sexual attraction/desire), but you should still try to remain a virgin for as long as you feel like, no one should have to pressure you to have sex. Wanna know what my motto is? "I don't tell you not to have sex, so don't tell me to have sex". :)

You know, I have the exact same story (and we're the same age too). I don't think it's normal...which is why I was thinking of posting the same thing.

I mean, I am waiting for "the one"....but I think that might be problematic.

I will give you the same advice as a friend just gave me...that to meet men, you need to go where men are. I've decided to take that advice...perhaps you should too!

It's totally normal. Regardless of what the idiots here say, men respect you if you wait for the right guy. Anyone can just give it up to the first guy that comes along but it takes courage and strength to wait for the right one.

You ROCK. Good going for you!

I think a guy who was really into might actually find that attractive. Most guys don't expect 24 year olds to be virgins so it might be a pleasant surprise. But hey, what do I know.

I don't think anything you said made any real sense or is even remotely funny. Rather I'm aggravated that you wrote it and thought other people should agree with you.
Really if anything you prove her right by showing how dumb someone who disagrees with her can be.

Better hurry though because you will become all dried up and unused and then nobody will want it

It is not normal. I never had a sex with virgins and i really don't want to. Staying virgin in the age 18+ is meaning that you are not interested in relations or you afraid of something. It's time to start to change yourself.

Not normal. People who carry virginity into their 20's have a host of issues about about STD's and finding the "right one" which is glorified idealism. Yet, don't necessarily sleep around to lose your virginity.
