Is it normal to be a misanthrope? In this day and age? The answer, for me at least, would have to be a resounding yes.

People are just inherintly stupid and if I was to list all of the specific things which made me hate people so much; I would probably be writing this for the rest of my life.

So here's what I hate most about people:

1. Patriotism/Nationalism - Now everybody has been guilty of this disgusting human trait, which DR Samuel Johnson called; "the last refuge of a scoundrel." Patriotism is perhaps the dumbest of all human behaviours, as it truly defines the irrational core of humanity. I hate it when people go on about how proud they are to be a specific natonality. How can you be proud to be something that you had know say in? It is as ridiculous as somebody being proud of having brown eyes! Plus I wish people would stop going on about "our boys" in Afghanistan, they are NOT my boys, I do not have any boys and if I did, they would be nowhere near Afghanistan.

2. Political Allegiance - Why does anybody feel the need to be loyal to a bloody politician? Especially in the current climate, when they have been exposed as either being; too duumb to serve the public or too wicked. Yet still you animals vote for these people. You sit and moan about how much you hate a certain politician yet vote for somebody virtually identical to the one you hate! Can't you see it's just tribalism masquerading as these words us people in the west love to use, like democracy or freedom. Why can't humanity wake up and just not vote for these conmen anymore?

3. Collectivism and "Pop Culture" - Ever noticed how everybody loves something all at the same time? For example, look how many people love Lady Gaga. This particular performer is terrible, yet millions of idiots all over the world love her, BECAUSE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES! Can't you see that you all think like bloody sheep? Everybody goes on about how different they want to be, yet they always end up being the same as everybody else! STOP IT! JUST PLEASE STOP IT AND WAKE UP!

So easy to control.

By the way I do not mean to pick on Lady Gaga, but she is a perfect example of collective populism.

    i used to agree with alot of your post op, but pop culture isn't really so terrible to get pissed about and refuse to discuss it or watch it. i don't like brainwashing patriotic propaganda either and so i don't watch "brothers in arms" on history channel lol. but i agree with you about lady gaga definitely. she LIVES for that media attention and she'll do anything she can to get it even having sex with 80 year old tony bennett to get ahead.

    I tend to agree as well. It seems as though everyone blindly conforms to societal ideals without a second thought. It's like no one questions the Lifescript. It goes in this order: subscribe to religion, get married, crap out a kid. Apparently our goal should be to end up with the same cookie cutter life as everyone else.

    Religion is a scam. Marriage is overrated and outdated. Kids are vanity items and so not worth the trouble. I think having biological children is the most selfish thing you can do. Now not only are you responsible for your own carbon footprint but also a whole new carbon footprint and footprints for generations to come. Thanks a lot, asshole. The world is grotesquely overpopulated and resources are limited. The Earth can only sustain so many people and the collateral damage that goes along with it. If you want a kid so badly, adopt one that already exists! I'm a misanthrope too, and I would never forgive myself for creating a vile human being. I would abort in a heartbeat.

    And BTW, Lady GaGa is nothing more than a desperate attention whoring troll.

    Im willing to bet your just as controlled because you make sure you do not fall into this "sheepish" attitude, which means pop culture controls you the same, they count on counterculture market, advertising properly, the main difference is you probably have an attitude that your better than everyone else. also i dont see a problem with being happy with where your at as far as moderate nationalism goes, and i think people align themselves with ideals and are loyal to those that embody those ideals, whether they are authentic or not no one can ever really tell

    I agree with nearly everything you said, albeit I do think it's fine if you enjoy a certain genre of music, or a specific artist. People enjoy things for different reasons, and not everyone that listens to a song is a conformist sheep. Now, with that said, I do agree that a LOT of people will just agree to liking something to appear "cool", but that isn't always the case.
