Is it normal to be a little bit phobic of illegal immigrants?

I’m not saying I have any issues with Mexicans or anything, I’m just against crossing borders and fences and coming into the country with no legal papers? I say if your gonna come here, do it the right way? Is it normal to be phobic and hold a grudge with illegal immigrants?

The problem is that the “right way” is so backlogged that the people that you want to let in have to wait many years to even get a chance.

The ones that have jobs in high demand come right in no problem. The problem for most of them is they have no college education and no skills. The vast majority of the ones rejected are because they will surely work basic labor jobs. If you have too much laborers the wages for labor go down because the supply is higher than the demand. And we have a lot of highschool dropouts and unskilled American's already especially in rural areas. Their wages will drop. Thats why they dont let too many unskilled people in.

I wouldn't say that it counts as a "phobia," because it would have to be irrational.

I haven't read studies on the subject, but I can guess that illegal immigration has some negative effects on society.

That, in my opinion, would then make your point of view rational.

Listen, I don't support illegal immigration. As a LEGAL immigrant, it has made my personal life much harder, and has directly affected my immigration process. Having said that, i still do not fucking understand the concept of seeing people as less than human because they don't have the right bit of paper. Those people happened to be born in the wrong place, that's the only difference between you and them. As easy as it is to demand that people follow the appropriate bureaucratic process, you can't discount the notion that, for some people, this is a desperate life or death decision. It's a decision you don't have to make because you won the lottery, and that's it. You didn't earn it. You don't even deserve it. Nobody does.

I don't agree with open borders or illegal immigration, and I don't have a solution to the problem, but have some compassion and empathy, dude. Those are people, not fucking animals. I bet you'd be knee deep in the rio right meow if it was that or watch your kids starve, so you sound like a big dumb spoilt bitch.

What’s funny is that it’s illegal in every country but for some reason the US should allow it. Apparently back in the day, there was an “open door policy” so people could cross the border either way to work. I’m cool with that.

If you can contribute and not be a burden on our society than come on in. If you are oppressed and are going to be a free loader than fuck off. There are a lot of fucked up places in this world and the US can't take care of everyone.

I worked my fucking arse off to get into the country I live in now. It was hard and it cost me my life savings at the time. I made huge sacrifices. So yes, I do strongly object to people sneaking in illegally. However, you need to be careful about the term "illegal immigrant" because in some instances it can be an umbrella term which includes asylum seekers/refugees, and that's a whole different kettle of fish.
