Is it normal to be a learner driver and...

I'm 18 years old, and a learner driver, I've been learning now for about 4 months, and expecting to take my test next month.

However in this short space of time, I've ran over and killed 2 birds, both times were unavoidable, on busy 2 way roads where if I'd have swerved it would have caused an accident.

Many people who have driven for decades have told me they've never ran anything over and are quite shocked, I'm such an animal lover too. Is this normal? The first time was on my 6th lesson.

    KEEP YOUR EYES MOVING!

Look back and forth at wide angles at least half a block down the road. I have been able to avoid hitting many cats, dogs, and small creatures by spotting them early.

    survival of the fittest.

the animals that learn to stay away from traffic - or the ones that are fast enough to escape - are the ones that live.

i mean don't get me wrong, i wouldn't purposefully go out of my way to HIT an animal on the road but... when it's a highway sometimes you just can't avoid it - not without risking more important lives.

That's a good point I was driving on a busy 2 way road with 2 lanes, a car was close behind me so breaking would have been dangerous, and swerving out the way onto the other lane would be even worse.

As long as it's not a cat. I hate when that happens. (not to me yet luckily)

One of my friend's uncle taught my friends and I how to drive when we were 15. We would then sneak our dad's cars at night and go for a drive. But this led to a terrible humiliating incident one night, and I didnt get to the Driver's seat any more till I was 20 and had a driving licence!

Oh it happened to me a couple of months ago. The bird flew a little too low and it was rather a cloudy day so it does happen to other people.

Don't worry its ththe birds fault. I think the birds here dare each other on how close they can swoop and not get hit, at lleast around my area. Just slow a much as u can, safely, when u see potential troble.
