Is it normal to be a good-looking geek that no one wants?

Just like I asked. I'm a moderately good-looking and nice guy, but also a geek. I'm not one of the clumsy ones though. Girls takes looks but are always turned off after I start talking. Is my geekiness really that much of a hinderance? I've stopped dating temporarily due to the years of rejection.

I love me some dorky boys. It's just like the male fantasy for a librarian I'm guessing...but I love them. But only the smart nerds. Intelligence is my #1 turn on.

For how old you are... No it's not normal. Girls tend to care more about what others think of them when it comes to choosing 'arm candy'. The furthere u get from high school, the more it changes. Girls become women and care less about what others think and more about what they REALLY want in a man. I'd stay away from the 20 and under crowd for that exact reason. For a relationship I mean. I'd also advise you to keep the geek stuff to urself for the first couple dates. Like... Don't start decimalating out PI as far as u can on the first date. Don't ask her if she plays WOW or what she thinks about quantum theory. Just be polite. Charming. And be yourself. Just not TOO much of yourself all at once. Also, some women assume that because you are intillegent and a 'geek' that you won't know how to show them a good time. They assume that an introverted person will have introverted activities. So after u take them to coffee or for a drink (or some other activity that isn't as huge of a commitment as a dinner date) take her somewhere unexpected and fun. It'll get you way further than flowers or diamonds will.

I'm 23 about to turn 24 in a month. I too thought things would be different outside of high school. The real solution I realize is to escape like-minded people, not simply your peer group. At least I think so...

How old are you? I'd say you're probably in your late teens or so. I'm 30 and I can tell you that geeks are usually the ones that end up being successful, and it's nothing like high school later on. Don't ever turn cocky either.. that would totally suck!

I talk about uncommon things like lesser known facts and well geek stuff. A lot of things bore me so my kind of typical conversation is not a typical conversation by mainstream standards. I'm convinced that I should aim for geeky chicks now. Lol

what kinds of things do you talk about? they could be bored or confused by what you say. i think its about the topic of conversation which turns the ladies off you.

Exactly^^ once you establish conversation you need to show that you're in control. Start it off by talking about her. Get to know her and see if it's right. My best advice though is to find a geeky chick that's into the same things you are. Being a man about it is the confidence. It's all about confidence in yourself. Be yourself and fuck the haters !

It's not who you are, but how you display yourself. You need to learn how to show people who you are in a way that's attractive to them.

If being a man involves paying your bills then I've been doing that for years.

If you mean actually asking them out, then I do that too.

So what's your definition of being a man?

Aw sweetie...chin up. Geeks are in, or haven't you heard? Don't let it get to you. Things will look up for you.

Its all about confidence. Just sound sure of yourself without sounding cocky. A man always look like is in control.
