Is it normal to be 20 and work everyday

Is it norm to be 20 years old, go to school full time and also work seven days a week?

I also have no friends just associates...

that was me for a while, 2 jobs, working seven days a week. worked evenings everyday and went to college 5 days a week, 16 credits each semester. (had at least 4 classes of homework each day. ) the last semester, unfortunately my college work and job performance suffered, i was rather stressed. plus with gas and supplies, it was a strain on my wallet.

right now, I'm no longer in college, and i was able to get a day off at work. i feel better now.

if at all possible, id say go as a part time student. (about 9 credits, or 2 or three classes a week.) it'll take longer to finish, but its less pressure that way, and you can still work to pay for everything you need to go to school.

(note, this guideline is for a 2 year community college, a 4-6 year university won't give you any time for a job whatsoever, so i hope you have a good amount of money saved up or loaned to you.

You're crazy, bro. I'm almost 30 and don't have any school anymore, still I'd shoot myself in the knee if I had to work more than 40 hours. And I'm not that well paid. Dafuq? Money is not everything in life. And I'm looking for a new gig that I won't have to go to work every day, even if it pays less.

I did my apprenticeship in engineering and did a night job at the same time 106hrs per week for 4 years, then I just crashed. Like you had no friends, interests, hobbies or enjoyment in life. Now I work 72 hrs a week 6 days at 12hrs per day and it seems to be working fine though Im used to the solitude

Welcome to the real world! Good for you for being hard working and responsible. You just saved yourself from wasting the next 5-10 years of your life binge drinking and sleeping with total strangers. That being said, it's important to stop and smell the roses. You need to enjoy life too. Don't turn yourself into a workhorse, take time to hangout, make friends and enjoy being 20. Your only young once. What you need is balance. Time for yourself and time for work and school. If one area dominates you won't be living life to it's fullest or happy for that matter. The fact that you wonder if your situation is normal is a sign that something needs to change. Good luck!

Im a college student taking a semester off to work full time. I plan on working 20 hours a week while taking 8 hours this summer and I still find time to make some really great friends. I also have a girlfriend who demands some attention. Don't get satisfied with just associates, make an effort to build at least a few strong relationships...think of organizations or activities you can get involved in to make friends.
