Is it normal to be 5'6 98 lbs?

Is that a bizarre weight for an 18 year old? I've always been really skinny. Any advice on how to bulk up?

    kinda skinny. If you wanted to gain weight the above commenters already nailed it. Eat protein and a lot of things in general. Make a habit of eating snacks and meals every 2 hours. And then do some weight training.

    It is quite low. I'm same height as you but weighed around 108lbs when I was 18. Then around 20 years old I gradually gained weight without changing eating and exercise habits, ending up at 128lbs. It might change over time for you too, but for now you should eat more protein :)

  • Listen to the two ladies above me. Protein and strength training. You should check your basal metabolic rate on fitness pal as well so you know the bare minimum of calories you need to eat each day just to maintain your. Bodies basic functions.

    I have the same problem as you, but I'm 19, 5'3 and 105lbs. Being so weak and skinny I have like no self confidence. It sucks. Guess ima have to listen to the 2 girls above me ;)

    If you want to gain weight eat junk food. No, that's actually bad advice :P Just eat lots of protein and exercise just as the first couple commenters said.

    I am not sure how tall I am now as i have been growing... The last time I was weighed, I came in at 80 pounds. Very much underweight for what was my then height.
