Is it normal to b this worried

I am scheduled to have a root canal next week and I am really freaked out about it. I think I would just rather pull the sucker out.. is it normal to be so worried about it?

I've had over ten root canals. After the first one when they took off the bib and told me they were finished, I didn't believe them. I asked them, amazed at how painless and simple it was, why people make such a big deal of it. It is the pain that leads them to need a root canal that they are actually describing. If you have been in a lot of pain, this procedure will bring instant relief. Don't worry!! And try the nitrous oxide. Tell them to go as high as they legally can with it. That helpse tremendously eith anxiety.

  • Hell yes. Better to have done, and while not much nice about it, it won't be as bad as you think.

YES! I am deathly afraid of the dentist, because I have a genetic condition that leads to a lot of work done. Everytime I go to the dentist, even just fir a cleaning, I freak out. I probably have it worse than you. Usually in the end, it turns out being better than you thought and not as bad. What i would do is bring your iPod to listen to music or something to distract you without distracting them. And since it's a root canal you'll not feel anything until after the procedure. Just relax, think about warm, sunny beaches without a cloud in sight, and think about something exciting coming up. Don't be afraid to just close your eyes. :)
