Is it normal to awaken in the middle of the night shivering?

I started doing this about a month ago. I go to bed about 10 or 10:30 pm and about 3:30 am I wake up shivering uncontrollably. It happened about 3 times last month, and now one this month. I'm not cold, I don't have fever, and I don't feel afraid or have panic. I just wake up and I can kind of feel it coming, it starts as a little twitch in my arms and abdomen then within a few minutes its full blown uncontrolable shaking, enough to shake the bed and you can visibly see me shaking. Anyone else have this happen? Is this normal?

you might be cold depeneding how cold it gets, you could be too cold if it gets really cold at a certein time of the night and your body will notice try getting a thicker or warmer blanket .

so this does happen to me on occasion but along with the uncontrollable shivering my skin becomes ultra sensitive and painful. also the ends of my fingers on my left hand become numb. does anyone experience any numbness anywhere? or skin pain?

Seizure possibly? See a phychologist or a doctor.
