Is it normal to avoid someone you love?

You've been in a relationship with that person before. You were in love, both of you. But then they left you (they had a good reason to leave) and now they're back. You still love them but you can't help but try and keep your distance from them. Is it normal to avoid someone even though you love them more than anything?

That's not a very positive reply, Lieutenant Dan.

ahh i feels. went through this myself recently. you're just trying not to get too attached as before. its sort of a defense mechanism wherein you're sort of protecting yourself from getting hurt again. you're slowly detaching yourself from that person to avoid how things were before. I think its a good thing. less clingy-ness i suppose
