Is it normal to avoid people you love, not to get hurt..?

I always feel this way.., being so distant to people I love.., other says " I am totally afraid to be rejected" some says " I'm a bit nervous for being left behind sooner" Is it normal to feel this way?

I love them so much they were very special to me but how come I want to avoid them with the fact that I really wanted to be with them at all times?

could somebody tell me how and why I am like this..,

If I know I have no chance then I stay away no matter how much I want someone, sometimes I even push them away which never ends well. If you love them though and you have a chance why avoid them? Lifes to short to be afraid of what may happen. You'll never know unless you try.

Whats really odd is.. That special someone.. It might just happens he/she wants you.... Think about how many times the avoiding and almost pushing away out of fear, was all for nothing :O?..

If us humans had no fear, it would all be so much more easier to go for that thing.. Damn.

I kinda do this. I'm so weak, a weak weak weak human being when it comes to that.. if i.. Well may i say care about someone who i'm not sure.. Likes me back... Then that's how it goes..

I must retreat and back off... Me getting rejected?.. I would.. I don't even, the results would be horrible... It's not i completely avoid that person... But, i do my best not looking like im really interested...

What can one do?.. Weak weak WEAK

it's difficult to avoid people we love and care right? let's be true to ourselves I guess...,

I don't think it's normal or healthy and I tend to do that myself.

I am totally depressed every time I think about them.

I tend to feel I shamed of myself, but it's not enough to stop me from isolating. What's strange is that I don't feel terribly lonely. It's like I've gotten used to it to a degree.

Avoid as in ignore, or do you mean being emotionally distant?

I think the quotes you put up pretty much describe it. At least that's around the lines of something I would say.
