Is it normal to avoid dating, at 23, because of severe self esteem issues?

I figure no girl would bother with me because I'm homely, have no car, still live with my mom, am socially retarded, quiet, the list goes on.

It feels like the effort would make me feel even worse about myself.

So you want to date, but don't think you can? It's definitely common, but it's not normal that you are just trying to accept it. You probably won't be as happy if you continue thinking that way.

You can find the ideal girl in the most unpredictable places ever imagined. Just remember to be self confident and understand that a relationship takes a toll with alot of responsibilities and that it would be a learning stage for you, ideally for the both, so you should try to date a girl that resembles to you.

One thing is for sure, while you can meet a girl online that is willing to date you, you'll never know for sure what awaits you outside until you venture yourself into the unknown. Go to the gym, get in contact with the real world, leave this comfort zone of yours.

You could just do an activity you like publicly and maybe you will meet a girl there

My hobbies are mostly indoors. Then there's the whole social retard thing.
