Is it normal to assert dominance over my grandmother?

For a long time me and grandmother have had our feuds. There is a lot of tension, and to a certain degree, some kind of "power play" in between us. She is a religious, conservative woman and I'm an atheist, so naturally our opinions clash from time to time. But lately it has gotten out of hand. Sometimes I make sexual gestures towards my grandmother and she will do the same for me. I believe this is a way for her to assert dominance over me, or at least, that's why I do it. I swear, this is a legitimate question, have any of you had these power play sessions with your grandparents? My friend says it's normal.

    I guess that's normal, or at least not completely bizzare. Is there no more mature way for you to gain dominance over her? You are both being rather childish.

      I understand that this may not be the most acceptable way of gaining status, but do you have any alternative methods I could use to regain dominance over my grandmother? I have yet to find another way.

    Why do you want to dominate anyone, least of all your own grandmother? Haven't you heard of relationships which don't have a dominant person in them bossing the other person around?

    I don't know who is worse of in such relationships, the bosser or the bossee; either way, there are much healthier ways to relate to each other, why not as adults who are equal?

    I can kind of relate. I've had many power agreements with my grandmother over the years. She sexually dominated me As a child. I don't try to sexually dominate the woman. I can never seem to win these arguments. She seems to have zero respect for me. Sometimes I wonder, if I could pursue one of my dream occupations, if she would learn to respect me. Probably not though. She'd probably call me a pervert and say that need help, berate me, etc. I can't win with this woman.
