Some guys look for a virgin when they marry but that is unrealistic. Is it normal to ask your SO how many guys she has had sex with? Is it important? If she says she has had sex with a number of guys does that make any difference? Does it turn you on if she has had sex with a lot of other men?

Shouldn't be any issue. I've had sex with about a kajillion guys and keep a diary with notes on all of them, but the really good guys I've been with have never cared or asked.

Yes its normal curiosity, however be prepared that she may not want to answer, because of potential reprisal from you. Or alternatively she may be anxious that you'll find it a turn on and want all the details and the last thing she will want is all the gory details of your past conquests.
In my experiences its best not to ask or tell... b/c you'll just start thinking about who it was, what they looked like, if they did things that he/she liked better than it is with you... then you'll start comparing yourself to that other person... its too stressful and someone usually always gets hurt by the other persons answer... ** The more important question to ask BEFORE you do anything is if the other person has any STD's and stuff...
I don't think it was wrong to ask her this question because it was the beginning of our decision to share her with other guys. We did this because I had more experience with other girls and we thought it would be better if we started out even, more or less. After a while, we came to the decision that sharing her with other men was exciting and for the last ten years she has had the liberty to enjoy other guys. Today, she is far more experienced than I am and she is a great lover because of that experience. I wasn't interrogating her and a good thing came of it!
