I've been with my bf for two yrs and boy has it been a hell of a ride I stood by him thru his nasty divorce and deal with his drama queen ex wife driving by his house and him constantly telling me if he wanted her he could have her back... So I've ask for a promise ring and he sent me pics of two diff rings last nite so whn I decided to choose the cheaper ring he flips out on me saying f u and I don't need tour civil war u know my financial situation etc... Granted his is drawing unemployment and has all these bills but I'm working and planning on moving in to help ... We r also in the process of turning the garage into a room for my boys so any extra we have is going toward that my question is shld he be treating me this way and shld I put up with him cursing and be a bitch about everything ?

    You should NEVER ask for a ring..that is ridiculous...especially knowing his financial situation. Do you honestly think a ring will bind someone to you anyways?

    He's going through financial difficulties and yet you have the gull to ask him for a promise ring?! He's probably stressed out as it is, trying to make ends meet and here you are worsening things for him. Traditionally, women aren't supposed to ask for rings, its the man that surprises them with one. You asking him for one could have also caused him to feel emasculated. Don't lower yourself even further by tricking him into having a child with you. How on earth would that help with the financial burden?! He also might have commitment issues which I find very understandable with you being materialistic, selfish, unrealistic, wanting to get pregnant (you'd probably be the kind to trick him too) and the stuff with his ex-wife.

    WOW! Honey forget the ring! Get the hell out of this relationship! Sounds to me like your about to get a nightmare! Get out now while you can! Cause dude will try to dump the bills and stress on you, then marry you, have kids, get a divorce, and leave you! He doesn't sound like the type of man I would want to be with! Bills, Stress, Ex's?!     Agreed, you should never ask for a ring of that nature from ur guy. It's supposed to be he's decision on when he gets u a promise ring and whatnot.

    Granted, him being a jerk about it is not just cause either. But that's kinda a hint that maybe you shouldn't bother trying to make a strong committment with him. If he got over a divorce chances are the thought of marriage is nowheres on his mind right now.

    I understand what you're trying to do but you're going about it the wrong way. Instead of asking for a promise ring you should just not take your birth control and get preggers. then you will have him trapped in another bad relationship. You already f***ed up by asking for a promise ring so if you want to be with this guy go on and let him fertilize your eggs with his little swimmers so you can be with him forever. that's way more powerful than a silly little promise ring.
