Is it normal to always draw/paint faces and eyes in all of my pieces?

I've been making art for almost 2 years and there's always been a consistent motif in my work. I love faces for some reason, but want to try something different. It's strange though, because I always end up putting a face or an eyeball or lips into a piece. What's even weirder is that I see faces pretty much everywhere all the time. It's mostly when I look at puddles of water, trees, gravel, persian rugs and the like. It started after I began taking LSD twice a week for a few months back in 2010. Is it okay to be obsessed with a certain object or idea to the point where you feel uncomfortable when there isn't one in your piece? Also, could the LSD have done something to the way I harness my creativity? I'm 23 by the way for anyone who wants to know.

Here's a link to my art so you can see what I mean.

There have been studies done about why people see faces in things that otherwise wouldn't or shouldn't have faces in them. Usually it's because the person is looking for some kind of control in their life. If you feel like you lack control then your brain will sometimes search for patterns that aren't really there or even begin making its own patterns like putting faces or other things into a piece of art.

Taking more then three doses of LSD makes you clinically insane. Just thought I'd point that out. Also, maybe it's a thing you really enjoy drawing. All I ever draw is anime, focusing mainly on the face and upper torso, as well as the neck. It's just something you enjoy seeing in life.

I think it's completely normal since it is art we are talking about, there is nothing wrong with drawing faces if you feel an urge to draw faces.

I say if the obsession is put into good use, then it is a good thing. I believe that drawing faces and eyes your signature, and I see it as a good thing as well. I find myself obsessing over dark, morbid things, and it defintatly shows and my art and writings. You don't sound abnormal to me. At least not for an artist, and I say, keep up the good work!
