Is it normal to act older than your peers?

I have always acted diffirently than my friends. I'm only 21 and like older people things. I like to read the paper, listen to talk radio, garden and have no desire to go out and party with my friends or get wasted. It's hard to find friends my age that have the same interests, so is this normal? I'm guessing not ;)

I was about 5 steps ahead of everyone when I was 6. Yes it is normal to be more mature. Some people mature quicker. I have friends my current age and they act like they are 10. People also consider me really old fashioned.

I think it's normal. People mature at different ages. I still have the same problem.

im only 18 and im the same way, except i hate gardening lol. but i found friends that are older than me, my boyfriend is 22 so i normally hang out with his friends. and i dont like drinking either, i mean you dont even remember anything the next day. i prefer to do thinks that make me happy, like hiking, working (yes i love to work), running, and traveling.

I've actually have had friendship problems because of this issue. People just want to live life so fast it seems. I say why not slow it down and enjoy it instead of getting drunk and wasted every night and not remembering a thing. oh btw in only 21

  • I think it's normal. I act way older than my age because i've been thru a lot so I've had to mature. I think Its a good thing.

What's normal? We are all different. Those of you who are like this are just in a different category of likes and dislikes then other 20 somethings. It may be a group that is a minority in amount so that's why it's harder to relate to others. Not many of 20 somethings who are the same as you. It's just who you are:)

I was acting like a thirty-year-old by the time I turned six. I think this is normal. I've never been into things like that. I'm seventeen and I know just how you feel!

Same here. I've always suffered that I don't friends with the same mentality I have. Well I'm 25 now and stopped looking for friends bcoz for my opinionb ts hard to find. I have one good friend and that's it. I live the way I like and do things I like and everyone accept me and I'm happy :)

This is exactly how my life is and I just turned 22. It is growing increasingly harder to relate to my friends.
