Is it normal to act like you are a car?
There was a kid in my elementary school who thought he was a car. This wasn't your plain "acting like someone else". He acted like he actually thought he was a car. Whenever he got angry at another kid, he'd threaten to run them over. Whenever he drank water he pretended he was filling up gas. Whenever he was tired he'd say he was running low on fuel. He even had glasses with little sticks of black plastic taped onto them (Apparently they were his "windshield wipers". He would ask like this constantly every day, until the point where everyone just started calling him "Car" (I'll refer to him as such from now on). I assumed it was a stage and that he would get over it eventually. We went on to different middle schools, and I had forgotten about him until a few years later I see him in my class in high school. I assumed he'd gotten over the habit at this point- after all he's no longer a kid- but 5 minutes later when we did class introductions I hear him say "Hi, I'm a car." The class looked at him confused and one person in the back laughed, thinking it was a joke. "Car" got really angry, and screamed "You laughing at me? I'll run you over." The guy then stood up and taunted him even more, to which "Car" then charged at him with a scream. "Car" ended up getting suspended. Needless to say, "Car" had not changed at all. His fantasy had worsened if anything.
