I don't know whether or not that's normal, but I don't think it's moral. I'm more for chemical castration, personally.
That being said, I wouldn't feel too saddened if a rapist ended up dying somehow.

I'm fairly sure chemical castration doesn't just involve the offender taking a pill a day, isn't it done with implants similar to the contraceptive ones?
I reckon they should be locked up together for ever and they can rape each other as much as they like

Considering how many innocent people have been executed in the US I wouldn't be arguing in favour of any permanent physical punishments if I were you. Just imagine the lawsuits down the track!
Prisoners wouldn't have to be supported by the public if they had to actually work at real work in prison to support themselves and not having the privilege of mixing with anyone other than those like themselves would be punishment in itself. The high cost of keeping people in prison would obviously be much lower if prisons weren't run for profit by private companies.
I don't know of any research about sexual behavior after surgical castration, but I do know that male animals castrated after reaching maturity are infertile but still sexually active. It may be mythological but there are many stories about the sexual activities of eunuchs in harems and they were almost imvariably castrated at a young age. Anyway, not all sexual assaults are carried out with the sex organs and impotent men are quite capable of sexual assault.

Yes, it's normal. If rapists were killed, it'd be justified and they would never hurt anyone else again. It's the same for animal abusers, child abusers, spouse abusers, and murderers. Better than have them lounge around in jail or freely.

Your approach to rapists misses the mark. Imagine one normal woman/man that tries to be nice to everyone. One night they are put into the wrong position at the wrong time and desire takes hold. Do they really deserve death?
I will never advocate rape but I will also never advocate the killing of many human beings on it's grounds. Frankly I think you and most commenters on this post are quite tyrranical in their viewpoints on this issue.Comment Hidden ( show )-

You are very ignorant: rape has little to do with desire and everything to do with control and power over another human. "Desire takes hold"? This is the old myth that men have such strong sexual urges they just can't control themselves, to which I say BULLSHIT, it's a choice to rape or to sexually abuse someone vulnerable. The tiny tiny minority of rapes and sexual abuse committed by women aren't put down to them being unable to control their sexual urges.
So tell me, can you imagine yourself being overcome by desire to the point of rape? If so, you are a potential rapist and part of the problem. This outdated rubbish contributes to making rape acceptable as "normal" and I don't care how "nice" anyone is the rest of the time, rape and sexual abuse of children is not forgiveable and there's no excuse for it.
I'm opposed to the death penalty on principle, too many mistakes have been made in the past, so don't paint me with that brush: Australia hasn't had it since the middle of last century and if there are ever moves to reintroduce it I'll oppose them. However, as a survivor of rape I can well understand the urge to kill or castrate the rapist, who in my case is still hassling me in spite of a court order and the police do nothing.
Tyrannical is a ridiculous term to use in this context: how could I be tyrannical in merely expressing an opinion which I have no power to enforce? THE TYRANNY AND TERRORISM in this context is being carried out by a small minority of men who are excused by people like you. '

I think certain violent criminals should be " put to sleep" as they do with mad dogs. But all in all I'm for castrating rapists yes.
