I have a huge crush on this guy at my gym, who is extremely attractive. He puts in a lot of work and has an amazing physique. We giggle and make small talk when we see each other but one thing strikes me as odd. We don't know anything about each other (I tend to get nervous and run away lol) and it seems like he's insecure with me as well. With other people he seems assertive, outgoing and friendly...but when I've talked to him, he's said things like:

"I'm an old man" (because he had a shoulder injury)
"I've been reduced to.."
"I'm a grannie" (randomly inserted into convo)
"I'm a fat ass" (because he was sweaty)

Last time I felt like he was putting himself down a little , so I said "No, you're not". He leaned in and said "yes, I am" in a secretive way. Uh, it's quite endearing to see someone so strong act so vulnerable, but...I don't get it. Why is it practically the first thing he says? I'm having a hard time deciphering whether he likes me and is vulnerable, or he doesn't like me and is trying to turn me off. He is close to a decade older (almost 30). Other than these brief remarks, he's pretty positive, calm, and testosterone-y.

    I get gassy when nervous. Does it always smell like farts when you're around him?

    Did you know that?..

    - He could be dealing with some sort of anxiety, perhaps "Social anxiety"... Could be bad, or not that bad but bad enough to shake him up when he talks to new people?.

    Or perhaps he just don't know what to say, some people have a very hard time "Speaking" or finding the right words in conversation, take me.. I'm pretty quick, i could talk zombies up from the grave.

    - He is gay and everytime he is done with his workout he goes home to stick a big fat blue dildo up in the brownichamber... If he is looking forward to that, then it must be akward to be in conversation with a "Nice/Cute" Girl or W/E.

    He might just be a modest/humble/shy sort of person. That would explain him downplaying his strengths somewhat. I know I try to avoid bragging, even if I'm pretty good at something. He could be doing the same. I think there's a chance he likes you, but it's hard to say.

    Sounds like he is testing out whether you would be into him also or if he has a chance with you .. hence "the i'm an old man" part etc to get a a positive reaction from you like "no your not .. i don't think that" he may even be waiting for you to say "you may be older , but still look good" -

    You're 20 and if you're cute then that's like waving a lamb-chop in front of a hungry dog.

    He probably does like you. When I was your age, I thought nothing of younger girls, but now I have no interest in a girl past 30, my real focus is on 18-25 yr olds. While I'm 40, people assume I'm in my late 20s or early 30s due to good genetics.

    Trouble is that some youngers girls find us gross-they see us like their dad or uncle, others find us really sexy/hot...it's finding those girls that's the challenge.

      I'm 21 and he's 7 years my senior. 40 is kind of up there.

        Ya like I was saying, for some girls like you, it might be too old for others age is just a number.

        Do keep in mind some guys in their 40s look like an old man and others like me look like we're not a hair over 30. It's relative.

          like, the hodgetwins (youtube channel). They are 38 and I would bang them. Most 38 year olds aren't so...youthful. I also don't like the way 35+ olds...smell. Lol.

            There you go, though those guys look like a couple of rapists imo. lol Yes, some men age badly-I know one guy at my work he's 45 and looks like he's 55, gross.

            Pfft, some youngins smell bad too-it's all about good hygiene at any age...though I think old people like 60+ smell bad, but mostly it's in our heads.

              It's not really hygiene. It's mostly their breathe and general aroma. Many older men have a seawater-ish scent to their breath. The only other group I've noticed with this distinctive feature happens to be young women. I can't describe the scent, but I am also repulsed by it. lol. Don't ask; I have a great nose.

    it's either one of 3 things .. he likes you too & is testing the waters with these comments / he is just seeking some flattery ego stroking etc / or may just be friendly & having a joke with you at his own expense.
