I used to work with him 4 years ago and I hardly talked to him ever(maybe "hey" and "what's up", that is it). He friended me on facebook last week and started talking to me and now he wants to hang out. I just think it's strange that all the sudden he wants to get to know me. I want to ask him why he suddenly wants to know me?
maybe he admired you and finally got the nerve to talk to you, or.... maybe he got his secudled cabin and needs a beautiful victim to abduct
He probably didn't have the balls to talk to you in person before but really liked you so social media is an easier method and less hurtful if you rejected him.
Maybe he always thought you were cool and happened to come across you on Facebook, and finally found the nerve to talk. It's no big deal. If you find it uncomfortable then you don't have to hang out with him. Like if he was a creep at work or anything, of course I'd ignore him. But other than that I don't see anything really weird about it!
He might like you. It doesn't have to mean that he's stalking you but keeping your suspicions in mind, if you do hang out with him precede with caution. Tell someone you know where you are going and who with, have them to call you periodically to check on you, never meet him in a secluded place.
