Is it normal this girl ignores me but is excited to see my boyfriend?

me and my boyfriend are servers in the same restaurant.

He has a bit of an ego and loves attention and can be flirty. I knew this from the beginning, I can be a bit jealous sometimes but its been no big deal.

we've been together for almost 2 years,

this girl started working with us in the summer time. She seems to work every shift we work.

shes really nice, shes kind of plain. I dont want to hate her but I hate her for the following reasons:

1. As soon as we get to work she runs up to her and asks him what section hes in that night.

2. Shes super flirty with him in front of me.

3. She ignore me.. she will literally walk by me 6 times and until I say hi to her she wont say hi or how are you.

4. Shes always all up in his personal space (shes stands closer to him than I do)

This has been going on for a while.. I dont feel like he would cheat on me.. I feel like he eggs it on because it strokes his ego.

It was worse at first... He would talk to her all quiet and not include me in conversations or act like I wasnt there which apparently he wasnt aware of.

I think he likes that I am jealous.

When I told him how I felt about it he sort of backed off.

He told me he had a sexual dream about her.

recently we all went to the bar together (other coworkers too) I left to go to the bathroom and I came back and he was sitting by her...

he thinks Im being an asshole.

Im nice to her...

but I have started to hate her so much that when I see them talking I get dizzy.

what would you do?

Ive wanted to say something to her like "why are you always concerned about what section hes in?" or "hey Im here too...."

Im mad at him for not considering my feelings, it would bother him if some guy flirted with me all the time and ignored him.

I was told to suck it up and not say anything.

  • you sound like an insanely sweet girl and i don't even know you but i can already tell you (from what i read in your story) that you deserve better. this girl sounds like she is out to sleep with your boyfriend and he doesn't seem to be doing anything to put you at ease. he told you he had a sex dream about her and he would ignore you when he was around her??? that is such a low-blow this guy seems to have no respect for you. i hate to break it to you but it seems like either
a.) this guy is just a douchebag
    or
b.)he's developed feelings for this girl and can't decide wether he should break up with you and date her.

There's always a c.) possibility in that he might just like the attention he gets from her because he has very low self esteem and doesn't feel attractive enough, sexy enough, smart enough, etc.. and the attention from a new girl makes him feel good and he likes to get a jealous reaction out of you because, hey it's always nice to feel wanted.
    best of luck sweetheart =)

He sounds like a dick to me. More so, he sounds to be interested in her.. :/ You deserve better in my opinion. I know that 2 years is a long while, but overall think about whats best for you. You're hurting bad over this. Bad enough to ask a bunch of strangers what they think, because you're running out of answers yourself. A relationship shouldn't make you feel this way. I don't think he is as committed as you are.

Agreed, find someone worth your time. Its better to get out now than wait a year or so for him to finally leave you for someone else.

  • First, if you`re uncomfy you have every right to say something. Your guy sounds like he gets a thrill from having all the girls want him, he`s power tripping over you. The girl is a sleazy skank from the sounds of it who is after your guy one way or another. I`d ditch them both and find people worth your time to be around. Good luck.

I'm not going to say that he's a jerk or a dick like everyone else is, because the reality is: some guys are just like this. Not jerks, but some guys just want more women and excitement, and don't want to or are done with settling with one. Right now I have a FWB and he was previously in an almost 2 year relationship, and when I said it must have been great he said he actually got bored a lot, and didn't want to constantly be around her. Now what does he do? Fool around with several girls and gives himself variety. Truth is, I don't even know if there's another like me. And I kind of don't want to know. With you it's hard to not know, since you all work together. And this guy sounds exactly like my guy; he's not afraid to be honest about how he feels and he's not afraid to tell the truth. On one hand this can be great, but on the other, he's telling you what you don't want to know, and this could either be to get his way with both of you, or to tell you he's not as interested in you anymore and that he wants you to just live with it. I'm not saying you should, but whatever you decide, show him that you are a strong woman that won't put up with his behaviour and knows what she deserves.

i would say something to her but thats just me... but at the same time it mihgt cause problems between you and him and maybe even worse problems at work, you might want to bring this up with him. tell him you dont like it and as your BF he needs to respect that and tell her to back off.

I agree with naughtyschoolgirl2(devious name by the way) that this guy seems low and you definitely deserve better.

So, either one of two things could happen. You could talk to him again and tell him that you REALLY don't like this girl, how he acts around her, etc., and give him some kind of ultimatum that if he really cares about you then he wouldn't do those things that are bothering you so much (this is probably the reasonable approach). If he still acts that way and doesn't do anything to change for you, then that lets you know that he really doesn't care about you.

The second thing to do would be to go to her and tell her to F*ck off because she is messing with YOUR man and you don't like it and if she doesn't quit then you'll unleash an ass-whoopin so bad she'll wish she had never even met you.
