Is it normal they put political propoganda in this movie?

I watched not even five minutes of Astro boy and when it came out I heard there was a lot of political propaganda and undertones. I saw it one day on tv and this was the first thing I here "Hooray we saved the day and defeated the evil cooperation! Now we can pass the healthcare plan".I’m like what! They did not just say what I think they Did. That was a huge reference that could not be ignored . What would little kids know about healthcare?

That's because Hollywood is so Liberal.

Well, a lot of animations put political problems on display. Futurama does this and I know that as a kid I watched it, still do. Astro Boy is a very old franchise that I'm pretty sure a lot of adults are familiar with, so why not put in something that they can relate to? I think that by putting in political commentaries they expand the audience of the production.

Cartoons are often seen as a handy place to put propaganda, if only because a lot of people watch them... think about movies like Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, the Lion King. All of them had something to say about the world. It's unfortunately hard to avoid bias.

It's in all the movies. Astro Boy wasn't a very good movie. But surprisingly no movie has outdone the amount of propaganda that I've seen in the Powerpuff Girls series...

The Mayor is incompetent and relies on other people to do work for him. Message: Government is stupid, they can't do anything.

The character HIM is the only cross dresser in the show. And he's a villain. Not just a villain but the devil. Message: anything queer or genderqueer is evil.

Princess Morbucks is in every way a spoiled rich girl. She's the only wealthy character in the show. (At least Batman is a good guy!) Message: Rich people are and will always be evil.

Gangreen Gang are the only humans that are green. They're also homeless. All other human villains are Caucasian. CN doesn't allow many ethnic villains because it perpetuates stereotypes. Making them green was a loop hole. Message: Colored people are dangerous.

The episode "Equal Fights" is a total mockery of the equal rights movement. Message: Equality has been achieved there's nothing else to fight for.

Femme Fatale is the only character that identifies herself as a feminist. And she's a villain and a man hater. Message: Feminism is the enemy to women.

In the episode "Custody Battle" HIM resurrects the evil Rowdyruff Boys (originally created by Mojo Jojo.) Mojo and HIM argue over who the father is. In the end the two settle their differences and end up happily together. Oh an HIM made the boys impervious to girl kisses. Message: Do I need explain how anti gay parenting this is?

The episode "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey" features the girls giving up their power to a red clad gnome for peace. Peace is achieved after the gnome gives us some satanic chants and everyone in Townsville is wearing red robes. The Professor informs us that things are worse than ever and they gave up freedom. Enlightened the girls beat up the gnome for tricking them. Message: Communism was made by the devil! Hippies are commies. Russians are commies. Let's beat up commies!

See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey was banned but it's unclear if it's because of the capitalist vs communist message or strobing backgrounds. I must admit that over all, I do love the series, and all the villains.

I disagree with that but I won't go in that long argument.

Femme Fatale does not symbolize modern feminism but feminism as a whole. At the end she is compared to Susan B. Anthony. Femme Fatale went to jail for robbing banks but Susan B. Anthony went to jail when she tried to vote.

        • many political figures are incompetant, many colored races are poor and that means they steal somtimes for food they can not eat, homless are homeless do to no home, no job or are medicly insane.communism has been proven to not work well. Even if it was not like its wrong in.most cases. gays is a sin as god put man and women to be together according to most religions. Not to say I believe in the message but these facts seem about right for the most part. I never noticed politics but loved it as a child.
