Is it normal there is never aid for homeless youth?

I don't understand why you would help a single mother and a poor family but you would never stop to help a homeless 18 year old living on the street. This kind of thing happens in multiple countries and there never seems to be any real program to prevent it.

A 21-40 year old is going to probably have a lot more experience and more resources. An 18 year old is some kid who barley started life, probably doesn't have everything together yet, and isn't going to have a lot of experience or people who they can put on a resume.

So why do these people get the short end of the stick always? If a mother has a kid at 17 since she was sleeping around that is her fault for not thinking. If a person was raped and ends up with a kid well clearly its not her doing that caused the child and if people keep having kids they know they can never afford why do they keep having them? ITs not like a child can stop themselves from turning 18 so why are they punished for it? When others are being rewarded for being irresponsible?

Thats like punishing someone for being born black. They cant change it. They cant prevent it. They were born that way. There is even reports saying "Homeless youth" is going up and no real programs to prevent it. So why does no one care if we put money into stuff that could ACTUALLY be avoided?

They give shows to all these mothers who became pregnant at 16 and yet they would let a crop of 18 year olds that never did anything wrong who are now starving on the streets. I think they deserve more help than someone having kids at 16 and getting to parade around on television saying "Look how irresponsible I am"!

Also this copied twice I am not sure why. I erased the other one this should be the last one left. So I am not trolling.

I don't know about there, but here, homeless youth can easily get into job training programs very easily and often businesses get tax incentives for hiring the homeless. They pretty much get the same aid that any other homeless and childless adult would.

My best advice to a homeless youth would be to go and seek the aid of a church. Even if you're not religious, I know people who will just "play along" and go to services in exchange for the charity of the members. I have a few friends who were homeless and joined churches and were helped to find a place to live and employment and they are now completely independent. Most aid comes with conditions anyway, might as well just play pray if you can't get government aid in a timely manner. I even know if LGBT churches around here that will help LGBT youth.

I could have sworn that there was a housing program geared towards what I think was underage youth in NyC. Then again, this might have only been geared towards those who were in the LGBT community. I saw it on an episode of True Life.

There are other housing programs but I don't think that they are for those over the age of 18. I don't know where you live but you can try sending a letter about your concerns to either the governing body of your area or the governing body of your country.
