Is it normal the toilet seat is a big issue?

If your man consistently left the toilet seat up would it affect your relationship? Would you breakup because of it? How long before you broke up?

are you fucking serious??? get over yourself. first of all, i always leave the seat down, because i am always thinking of others. But come on, you are considering breaking up with your boyfriend because you can't touch a seat occasionally, when your boyfriend has to touch the seat ALL the time. i feel bad for your boyfriend, there must be no equality in that relationship.

I don't see how it could ever matter. If it caused problems in a relationship, I'd think that must be indicative of deeper problems than just toilet seat issues.

Exactly. I don't understand how something so trivial could matter so greatly to somebody :/ Definitely an example of '1st world problems' here.

"OH MY GOD YOU LEFT THE SEAT UP AGAIN, CAUSING ME LITERALLY TWO SECONDS OF INCONVENIENCE! That's it, we're getting a divorce."

Interestingly enough, I live in the 3rd world and not once in my life, outside the movies, have I ever heard about that toilet seat inconvenience. Here's how it works in the 3rd world: if you need it up and it's already up, or you need it down and it's already down, then you use it the way it is. Otherwise, you accommodate it to your needs and use it. There are no other rules to it.

I much prefer the seat to be left up then to find it covered in pee.

This issue never made sense to me.

It would be the same as a woman leaving the toilet seat down when a guy has to pee.

I never noticed if my brothers left the toilet seat up or down. I personal don't remember if I ever had to put it up or down because I never cared to pay attention. Sorry, but there is no effort into moving a toilet seat.

Forgive me for being ignorant here, but I don't get this...

A man lifts the toilet seat up to pee so the seat isn't splashed with urine. A man puts the toilet seat down to poo.

A woman puts the toilet seat down to pee and poo.

If I was in a relationship and a woman always left the toilet seat down, requiring me to lift the toilet seat up every time I wanted to pee after her, I wouldn't care even remotely. If I was in a relationship and a woman was angry because I would always leave the toilet seat up after peeing, I'd think her quite pathetic.

I honestly don't understand... I mean if a guy has a habit of pissing all over everything, I can understand how that could be an issue. But what the hell has leaving the toilet seat up or down got to do with anything? Since when was the simple task of raising or lowering the toilet seat such a massive chore and inconvenience? Somebody explain?

I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't understand why this is a "big issue", or even any sort of issue.:S

Erm... if a relationship broke up because of a toilet seat, then it wasn't exactly going strong to begin with. I do think some men should be a bit more thoughtful with this 'issue' but some women do get a bit too crazy about it. Both sides need to do their bit!?

Ooh! I didn't know that toilets were into BDSM...

Hmm... It's not a huge problem for me, but perhaps that's because I don't live with any men. If I did, I still don't think it would be a problem as the situation is easily remedied. If the lid is left up, just knock it back down with your foot. I don't like for there to be urine on the seat, but that's for both genders. Ask them to wipe up their leavings.

Hey, guys don't have it as easy as us when it comes to peeing! When the seat's down, there's not as much room for error. And it doesn't take any effort to put the seat down! Seriously, so many women act like it's hell to put the seat down, like their dainty little frames can't handle such hard labour. Just stop acting like a little drama queen and let the poor guy do what he needs so he doesn't get pee all over the seat!

I wouldn't break up with someone over it, but it would be an issue for medical reasons. It may result in me being injured.

No, I'm sometimes very dizzy when I go into the bathroom, and my wheelchair doesn't fit into the bathrooms in my house. I need to be able to sit down quickly.

ooohh my goood soooo frustrating, i never want to have to touch a toilet seat ever, the men in my life better do that for me. they better put it up to pee, and put it down for me, instead of splitting the job 50/50 and have him put it up and i put it down. but that would make us equals, and I can't have that !!

hahah yeah that's true, i see your point!! Also iv never understood why guys have to put the seat up in the first place, like what difference does it make?? It's practically the same, like the same hole just a little tiny bit more wider than when it's down? I seriously don't get it, if i was a guy id leave it down to piss O.o

It gets raised as an issue, so I think it's fair to talk about the issue. If there is a good reason why one gender is inconvenienced and the other isn't, then there's a reason for the gender that isn't inconvenienced to do something about it.

Why can they not just make a toilet without the seat that women do not fall in. That way they are all happy. That or make a toilet that has a button that you press boy or girl and it will detract and retract the seat for a few minutes.

The simple solution is for both the man AND the woman to put the toilet seat completely down (with the lid so its fully closed) once they're finished. That way, if the guy wants to piss he lifts up lid + seat, no extra effort, then puts lid + seat down. If woman wants to pee she lifts lid up, no extra effort, then puts lid down. Now men and women are both equal. Happy now?

I don't care if he leaves the seat up. I DO care when he's lazy and doesn't put it up and gets piss all over the seat. It's not that big of a deal though.

I think that if a man and woman are living together, they should use the toilet as they normally do, but then lift the seat up or put it down for when their partner uses it next.

But I wouldn't break up with a guy if he always left the seat up. It's not that big of an issue to me.

The toilet seat is tipped up to prevent male urine from dribbling on the seat. You'll need a raincoat to use that toilet.

Our problem is putting the seat up!! The fucker pisses with the seat down and pees on the seat. He doesn't clean that shit up either. You can't fucking see it so you end up sitting in it. It's bull shit.
