Is it normal the mythbusters irk me?

It bugs me when the Mythbusters take on a popular phrase and proceed to rip it apart. I think we know that not all phrases are to be taken literally.

'Runs like a raped ape'...OK, must we rape an ape and observe how it runs?? 'Like a bat outta hell'... 'Off like a prom dress'...do we have to do a test on how many people do it on prom night? Come on...Such is the way with most sayings...it's IMAGERY!! Leave them alone, Mythbusters!!

What I'm saying is, it's fucking annoying. is it normal to think it is stupid to dissect sayings?

umm isn't that what the show is about, busting myths to see how true or false these things are?

I wouldn't be opposed to them testing if time flies. They could just sit there with trebuchets and cannons, shooting clocks around.

I've never seen one where they test anything like this. It's mostly actual myths, not expressions. I haven't seen the show recently though.

It's basically a reality TV show, you can't take it completely seriously. LEAVE MAH BUSTAHS ALONE. T_T

OP is not smart or creative enough to understand science.

It doesn't really have anything to do with science at this point, just a picky OP.

Well the guys on myth busters are very intelligent. They are doing science experiments and in a fun creative way. So it takes a creative mind to appreciate something like this. Its like booing your science professor for doing a cool experiment.

Exactly, but the OP really isn't complaining about the science, he/she's complaining about the destruction of useless idioms like "a rolling rock catches no moss".

how would a rolling rock get moss if it is rolling? Moss has to collect doesn't it? So wouldn't it have to be still?

I think you have no imagination. You must hate science and are not very creative. It is not just sayings so you know. Most of them are myths. If you hate science do not watch the show. Some of us like learning interesting things. I have thought of a few myths I would like tested myself.

  • Kari Byron is absolutely the whole reason for watching the show. I'm not sure that I've ever even noticed the subject matter...
