I am a man and I would cook and clean for my woman. I'm saying it because I don't know how to create and maintain a relationship.
I think it is just a supply/demand issue based on today's status of things.
Any other man that has no problem finding a mate will choose a woman that is willing to do what he wants.

I am a woman and I do not expect or accept any man I am committed to, to cheat! I don't think the majority of women do or they wouldn't get married. I don't believe in obeying men or men obeying women. I don't think it's right when your in a relationship that either party impinges their wants, needs, desires and rights so the other persons are not meet. At the same time you would be stupid not to be guided by the wiser person in that particular situation. Also it's okay for a women to look glamorous and feminine it's not obeying a man anymore then it is obeying a woman when a man wears a suit.

I used to agree with you until I had my son and I don't think that I have lost any power, just a bit of income to stay at home with him. As for the cooking and cleaning it is shared in my household. As for religion people will see what they want to see. I see that it is more important to treat each other with respect and realistic you only give perseved power to men if it suits you. I find that women generally are the ones who keep each other down with career areas as they don't tend to support each other.

There's nothing more normal then a persons loyalty laying with the people the love the most. It sounds as if the woman who gave up an executive position at wrk found her loyalty to be with the people she loved the most, her husband and children. Same with Michelle Obama. What lucky families they are getting the constant care and love from the person who loves then the most. Ones loyalty shouldn't just belong to a race or sex, religion or group. It should be with the ones you love no matter who they are. I think people who do put their loved ones first are always happy more satisfied people. There is no right or wrong either way though. People have choices and everyone makes their own. All everyone else should do is be as supportive as possible and only wish for the best for others. Evolving has nothing to do with any of this.

But then again... Do you want to lead around your man who is loyal and slightly afraid but will do anything and everything for you? Though fun at the time you eventually just want them to grow some balls.. Sadly equality doesnt seem like a possibility though..

Women have always traditionally been nurturers, they tend to stay at home and take care of the kids or be it cooking and cleaning. It was only in the 1950's that this began to change. Do not expect 5000 years of history to change over night.

That said, I personally disagree with your stance. Your idea of feminism is very black or white, from what I can tell about the above post you don't see shades of grey. This leads me to believe that you are part of the young generation, that's out to change the world. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it, however, feminism is about the right to chose what you do.

5) Spousal abuse is perpetrated by both sex's roughly 66% are men, that means 1/3 of which are women. Now given that so many people who are abused (especially men) don't report it. I'd be willing to bet that number is closer to 60% women /40% women. (BTW this number comes from the Department of Justice for the USA.
6) They may have a valid reason that you have no idea about. Unless this person is you, you will never know the exact reasons.
7) I agree with the other poster here, Barack has possibly the most stressful job in the world. Each term served by a US president is supposed to age you 10 years. Again I would have to say don't presume to know what goes on in that relationship.

OH & abused spouse happens to BOTH men & women....except women are the overwhelming majority of who reports it. When men do, no one believes them & laughs...calling them pussies (basically). So there are MANY way to see differences in gender roles.

I cant disagree more. You come across as incredibly sexist, and naive. Just because a woman will pose for a pic beside her husband does not mean she is eye candy!! I, and any other woman i know, do not consider it our duty to clean for our husband. In fact my husband is expected to clean equally with me, and i only cook if i feel like it - which he can certainly attest to. Keep in mind just because you think you see something doesnt make it true. You can never know the dynamics of a relationship that go on behind closed doors.
Now this isnt to say that all women don't give in to their husbands wishes.. but i certainly dont think its the majority by any stretch of the imagination!!
Organized religion isnt a good basis for anything.. But thats another whole post!
And on another note - a growing number of women keep a variation of their maiden name.

Women have the CHOICE to do whatever we want.... Business professional or staying at home. Lawyer or wife/mother....etc. We can take a mans name, or NOT, all of us can believe in whatever we want to & find a partner who has the same religious beliefs. How many women would allow their men to make such drastic personal choices? Majority wouldnt. I think women have a significant "upper hand" in todays society, our variety of personal choices & decisions are much more accepted than mens. If a guy chooses to leave his job & stay at home following his personal "dreams" hes a low life who needs to go out & support his family.
