Is it normal that women are so interesting to everyone?

I was at the local store buying a card the other day and I noticed that most magazines have women on them. Not the special interest ones (even some of these do for eg bikes with women draped over them). All the womens magazines and most of the mens. Later I went for a coffee at Mcdonalds and sat near some young guys, one mentioned the word "girls" 8 times in 15 seconds (timed). Women are fascinating that's for sure. IIN?

    Women aren't interesting to me. And I wish they would take those photos off the magazines because it convinces young girls that that is what they should look like. I really don't pay attention to other women or give a damn about what they're wearing, how they look, how they style they're hair. Every now and then I'll see someone wearing some shoes or piece of clothing that I might like, but I couldn't give a shit whether she was wearing it or not. I never understood why women care so much about the things other women are wearing and doing. I acutally happen to think men are mor beautiful than women and not just because I'm a heterosexual female either. Other women just don't interest me and the photos they put in the magazines just waste my time. I wouldn't say EVERYONE finds women interesting. I think society kind of puts women in that position. But women certainly don't interest me. And, definatly, I wish I'd see more attractive males in the media, magazines, and so on. Then, they'd spark my interest with something! ;)

    As far as the magazines go, they have pictures of women on them mainly to attract WOMEN. The readers of most of those magazines are females, so they advertise with the front cover that "HEY! THIS IS A FEMININE MAGAZINE!". This is an extremely common advertising tactic.

    You'll notice that companies DO advertise to one gender or the other. If we're talking about commercials about tools, cars, sports or other "masculine" products, you'll find that the focal characters will be males, to establish familiarity with their male audience. The same goes for commercials about cleaning/hygeine products (gender neutral and female oriented), child care products, clothing etc. but for women. A female will be the focal point of the commercials.

    As for those boys in McDonalds... I didn't hear the conversation, but considering most boys are sexually interested in girls and are at a point in their lives where their hormones are practically running them, obviously girls are going to be on their mind.

    You do realize that a lot of these women on these magazines aren't really anything magnificent, right? The majority are just eye candy. The fact you wouldn't realize that is quite...I can't think of a word to explain it.

    In my belief, men are more interesting and magnificent, and here's why: what they have achieved. (Yes, I know, wah, women achieve things too, wah). Even today men are inventing and progressing most technologies. I'm not saying women don't do this either, I'm saying males do it far more. (But I know even if stating the fact that men are surpassing more in technology that the comment is still thumbs down worthy if it dfoesn't inclide women being better or equal).

    In a social way, I think men are still more interesting. I loved most of my life in the company of females, and I thought they were interesting, but when I started being friends with males, my life became far more interesting, and there was far more things to discuss.

    There have been far more great men than great women. Personally, I think most men have the capacity to become five times better than they are if they were brought up in a learning enviroment that suits their mind set and needs.

        I definitely think men are easier/funner to talk to than women. Women like to talk about people. Men don't. I don't like talking about people all that much. When bitches quit gossiping they may eventually find themselves in a far more useful/ interesting conversation. But I've always found women more interesting to look at.

        I don't agree with everything you said, but i don't think you deserved thumbs down. Ah well, what can you expect? I think there's more women here than men.

      Common sense would dictate that your social life is bound to be more interesting when you're not restricted to one group of people, in your case, one gender.

        I see what you mean, but I think you must of overread something or I didn't make part of what I said clear. I have been in a social group with both genders. I stopped only being around females around fifteen, and started replacing the areas the females were in with male friends, and I still to this day find males more interesting to be around. I am not saying women are not interesting, nor am I saying some, even a lot of women aren't more interesting that other individual males, but in "my" experience, males have more interting parts to friendship.

          Most of my friends are guys. I don't want to sound misogynistic but as friends women typically tend to be high maintenance and emotional. I have great female friends who evade that typical I stated but I don't much care for the level of social tact females require.

    women are about their physicalities and interpersonal relationships. That's why cosmetics, fashion and gossips mags feature women. Men are about stuff and action, thats why you'll only sometimes be somewhat aware of the guys behind the lens or stories in national geographic or popular mechanics. The only time you'll see guys in mags physically is in bodybuilding or comics
    Also attractive women are enticing to probably 95%of people , guys to 55%, so it makes sense for mags to use that knowledge for the cover that doubles as an ad

    Why must there be a constant battle between the sexes. Look at the Swype lines when you write "sexes". They are one line that appear to be two lines coming from one vertex. But they are just one.nuff said.
