Is it normal that when trying to sleep i focus on my heart beat a lot?

Whenever I sleep, I'm constantly aware of my heart beat as I'm trying to sleep. Sometimes it drives me nuts as I can feel each beat. Does anyone else do this?

I have to have this all the time, and still do on occasions. In fact sitting here now I'm very aware of it.

For me it;s caused by anxiety, and going on anti-depressants has helped quite a bit.

If it doesn't really bother you other than it's annoying, just try to ignore it. I find I can stop focusing on it sometimes if I just do something like tap my fingers on the bed or my foot or something, just a movement to focus on instead.

I do this too. It helps me fall asleep.
