Is it normal that when trying new food i have to sniff it first?
Okay, so I've noticed that before I will put a new food into my mouth to try, I sniff it. If I don't think it smells right I won't eat it. Does anybody else do this?

I do this with most food regardless of whether or not I've eaten it before.
I sniff food all the time before I eat it. My mom thinks it's rude like I'm an animal or something. But, I figure it's my mouth and I ain't gonna stick anything I don't like the smell of in it. I don't care how long someone slaved over a hot stove to make it. Make something that smells good then I'll eat it!
I do this also....it's like a food inspection to make sure I don't did any weird looking bits in it.
Yes i do this.
but then it's like this smells good but g'dayyom this taste horrbible.
Smell and taste are very closely related, so yes that is quite normal. I have heard that if you lose your ability to smell, you also will not be able to taste anything.
