Is it normal that when i push the plunger, it hurts

When i insert a tampon, it doesn't hurt but when I push the plunger it does. I use playtex gentle glide reg.

    First off, what gender are you?
    What part of the plunger are you trying to stick up your ass/vulva? The handle or the umbrella end?

      I'm a female and I put the bigger barrel (the one that holds the tampon) into my vagina and push the smaller plunger in, but when I do, I feel pressure inside my vagina and pain.
