Is it normal that when i am reading my eyes will jerk back and forth?

When I am reading, every so often my eyes will jerk and jump back and forth rapidly, just for a second or two, but it is completely uncontrolled. Does this happen to anyone else? Are my eyes just tired or strained? Is there anything I can do to make it stop or is just something I should live with?

You are reading either right to left or left to right and slowly scrolling down. So I think it is suppose to do that.

My eyes do it when I focus for a longer period of time- or when I'm focusing on something tiny. I'd say it's normal.

It sounds like a visual condition called nystagmus. Do you find it's easier to focus on stuff when your eyes start switching back and forth?
