Is it normal that weed no longer gets me as high?

I've been smoking weed for about 4 years. Lately though, I can only intensely feel it when mixed with alcohol. I miss the starting days in which everything was inspiring and interesting. Lately, it's just.. whatever.

You have built up a tolerance. The only solutions to the complaint you are making is to either quit smoking for a while (to decrease your tolerance), or get better weed. Or just quit smoking, period.

      Yeah, the issue is tolerance.

I haven't smoked up in a year, but at one point I was smoking several times daily to the point where being sober at all felt a little "off" to me. But I'd find that if I were to take a month off, even a week, it would feel much stronger when I started smoking again. So I'd suggest taking a break from smoking for a couple weeks.

I agree with the latter...but thats just my opinion.

Are you always buying from the same source? Your dealer may have added a little 'extra' and has now withdrawn it - to make you go onto harder stuff. Give it up if it's just 'whatever' - what's the point?!

All weed does to me anymore is give me a somewhat intense light headed feeling. Its not like the ol days where getting blazed was like an adventure. Now its just normal feeling. Ha

Music and positive thinking seems to do it for me no need for drugs here...

That's what weed is supposed to be! Just something to relax and calm you down, not to get high and "trip".

That is actually what is supposed to happen. The first time you do weed, your body produces so much dopamine it starts to kill off the receptors in your brain. So next time there isn't as many receptors, and therefor not as much pleasure, or dopamine production. That is why weed is considered a gateway drug.. Because sooner or later it won't be enough anymore and you will move onto something stronger
To try and feel that first high again, but truth be told you will never feel that way again.

It`s only a drug if you treat it like one, there is people that actually use it for medical reasons.

U can deffiantly stop and start up again and every is right u will get closer to the first high.... here's the deal when u smoke enough weed ur body builds a tolerance to it so its only natural for the high to be lessened. I used to smoke everyday (all day) for 2 years and after a while it was a normal feeling to me... no one could tell when I was high anymore! When u stop and then start again ur tolerance goes back down so ur going to get a similar effect to the first time.
For me tho, I had smoked for 2 years like I said and stopped for two months and when I smoked agaon after that two months I had a very bad experiance and felt as if I was tripping, but just as someone else posted weed is ment to relax u not make u trip out. My husband thinks that my body was rejecting it and that's why I felt like that. But I will tell u honestly I didn't like and don't know if ill ever beable to get up the confidence to smoke again! But that's just my personal experiance, and yes everyones body is different and reacts to different things differently... so that's not to say if u quit and start again it will happen to u and u will have the same experiance as me!

Yeah, it's different for everyone and it also depends how you take it. Eating, smoking, drinking, etc. Also the strains of weed. Lots come into factor. But for me it helps a lot.

I was the same way! I just went back to the alcohol. If you really think about it its legal. So there's no drama in finding it and you don't have to worry about cops. And its a helluva lot cheaper and you can get as fucked up as you want.

k people write paragraphs for no reason.. Either stop for even a couple days or week and boom youll feel alot more high or just smoke different weed or even switch the way you smoke like from joints to bongs, to pipes, to blunts or vapes haha

Ive been smoking for about 7 years and i ran into the same problem. What you should do is completely stop for a week or 2. Then smoke and you will feel exactly how you want to feel. After that wait 2 days before you smoke again. If you smoke every 3rd day you will get a lot higher. You might think you cant do it but it gets easier and its worth it. Id rather wait 2 days because the feeling is so much better than doing it everyday and barely getting high

Marijuana is different for everyone, it may have the same effects. But when I smoke it, it makes me feel relaxed but not too relaxed. It also helps me focus more and helps my body pain, appetite, etc. It also depends on the type of stain, each strain is different. But what I would do is make sure the weed is grown naturally and not sprayed with chemicals or laced with other drugs.
