Is it normal that we never hear from mongolia making threats?

Really, Mongolia? Not planning any invasions into China, or Russia? No quest for world domination? No drive to anger anybody else? They're never in the news for any global trouble these days. Historically, we all know of the Mongol invaders that trekked all across the Eurasian continent. Such names everyone knows are Genghis and Khan Kublai Khan. This century, you never hear of anything Mongolia is doing that captures US attention as a zone of hot conflict. Aren't there any Uighurs there these days like in the Xinjiang region of China? Wonder why Mongolia is like this? Don't say, omg, its just too cold/hot there. Don't say its because the place is landlocked.

Having brought this up, Mongolia might be a place to consider for any multinational corporation doing business. I still have yet to see clothing with a tag that says "made in Mongolia". Waiting for that one.

It's because it has a population of 3 million people, most of whom are in one city (Ulaanbaatar).

It's also quite a poor country. Around a third of the population live off herding livestock.

And the majority of the population are either buddhist or non-religious. So there isn't the same influence of Islamic extremism that you get within countries with sizeable Muslim communities.

Oh and they're not seeking independence from anyone, and I don't think there's any real desire to occupy anyone else's land.

Just because the Mongol Empire was one of the biggest in the world, doesn't mean Mongolia has retained that position of influence and power. Why would they threaten countries with enormous populations, large economies and global influence and a lot of military power? Especially countries either side of them (China/Russia), either of which could squash them pretty rapidly?

They'd gain nothing from it. China is Mongolia's main trading ally - without whom their economy would probably collapse. Russia is also a trade ally, and has had strong ties with Mongolia since the Soviet Union - again, they'd gain nothing from a conflict, but could lose everything.

As a land locked country bordered by Russia and China, I don't see any future in Mongolia for 'multinational corporation doing business'. Just how would you suggest that they transport their products to the world without a sea port?

They are low on women so they kidnap Chinese ladies and force them into bondage. But shhhh, it doesn't effect the American economy so it stays out of the news.

There are new empires in power now...those past powers have been overthrown, perhaps because of disunity in the ranks, fighting spirit is not genetic, why does it matter to you?

They do make those threats. Our media just doesn't report about it. We already have our enemy images.
