Is it normal that underwater, space, open spaces scare me?

So I've never really had this problem when I was a child, I don't even know when it started, I just know that underwater like the ocean lake and rivers freak me out. So does space like up in the sky space. When I'm alone in large open spaces also scare me. I can't even watch movies about the ocean or space. Recently went to watch soul surfer but I could not stay in the whole movie because I got really scared. It got hard for me to breathe and I felt like my heart was pounding a
million miles an hour. Is this normal? What's wrong with me?

Is it a paralyzing fear or just getting extremely nervous around it. I don't have an extreme case of that but its the fact that I get nervous unless my back is against the wall. Its a security thing. Small spaces probably make you feel safer because you can see what all is in the room. In space you can't and in water you can't. Is that how you are, because that is completely normal.

  • Exactly the same here. I even wrote my own question on it on here.

I'm the opposite of you. I hate extremely small places.

  • Me too, open places underwater make me feel uneasy. I used to be terrified of the two water levels in Super Mario 64 as a kid, especially the one with the submarine. It was that black hole that opened after you got the first star that could suck you in, that was the scariest thing in the game for me.
